May 10th marks the one year anniversary of the OrangeCountyReaders blog! I began talking about books on social media after we built our Little Free Library in 2017. After about a year of skulking around the book community I decided to rebrand from Adams Avenue Little Free Library to Orange County Readers to broaden my audience, to have a platform to say more and to get back into creative writing. I also feel that having a blog legitimizes my efforts with publishers.

It’s been an interesting journey and I’ve learned a lot! I’ve made mistakes, over committed and spent too much money, but I’ve also made great friends and read some fantastic books. Coming soon: 10 Things I Learned In My First Year of Book Blogging.

And that’s it! Thanks for checking out my month. What are you excited about in May? Tell me in the comments!

Love, Jaymi

  1. Great reading month and you are so organised for May. Very impressed. I see some books I want to read on your list – plus one I have read and one or two that I have pre ordered and are on their way to me. I’ll have to check out The Overdue Life of Amy Byler.
