Top Ten Tuesday | Most Recent Adds to My TBR #toptentuesday #tbr

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is all about books on my TBR list. In a slight twist I’m only including books that YOU, my fellow book bloggers (and role models) have put on my radar with your beautiful pictures and well worded reviews. Some are genres I wouldn’t normally pick up or a new to me author but if you took the time to write/post/rave about it… it’s worth a look-see.

10 TBR Books Recently Recommended By (some of) My Favorite Book Bloggers.

1️⃣ A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna – This one sounds very interesting and I want to read more diverse authors. Goddess in The Stacks has a great review of this science fiction/fantasy retelling that really caught my eye.

2️⃣ Florence Broadhurst: Her Secret and Extraordinary Lives by Helen O’Neill – I love a good biography but throw in a murder and a gorgeous cover too? Must investigate. Thank you Kate at Books Are My Favourite and Best for the recommendation.

3️⃣ Saga by Brian K. Vaughan Graphic Novels…where do you start? I’ve been curious to see what this genre is all about. I must admit when I think of graphic novels I think of anime and big eyed girls and Sailor Moon, but I’m positive there’s more to it… right? A couple of bloggers: Sara at Bibliophagist Reviews and MeltotheAny have both recently posted about their love for Saga and how each volume is better than the one before!

4️⃣ Bella Toscana by Nanette Littlestone – You can always count on eloquent and descriptive Reviews by Shalini – this book’s themes of past lives and the “energy of the soul” and the lyrical writing sound like something I might enjoy.

5️⃣ Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden – this is a book I recently purchased with Christmas gift cards. Marialyce of YaYa Reads Lots of Books and I read some of the same books and their review made me want to read it right now!

6️⃣ A River In The Trees by Jacqueline O’Mahony – Historical fiction with parallel storylines 100 years apart and Irish (County Cork) history? Theresa at Theresa Smith Writes wrote in her review that this author’s writing “gave her goosebumps” which is an excellent recommendation to me! And that cover definitely caught my eye.

7️⃣ The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokski – It’s everywhere. It’s got a gorgeous cover. But is it worth it? Kathy at Books and Munches says yes. She says it’s got a diverse cast of characters and a slowly burning romance. Historical Fantasy? Is that a genre?

Goodreads | Amazon

8️⃣ The Wicked King by Holly Black – According to Caidyn at BW Reviews – this second book in the series will give me ALL THE FEELS. They said that it was “fantastic”. And I love that cover…

And in case you need a review of the first book, check out what Sara at Bibliophagist Reviews had to say about The Cruel Prince.

9️⃣ Thick: And Other Essays by Tressie McMillan Cottom – Want in-depth and thoughtful reviews of non fiction books? My go to site is What’s Nonfiction and they say the writing in this book is “powerfully affecting and intensely well crafted”.

🔟 I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella – Light, uncomplicated and an easy read – that’s how Amy at Novel Gossip describes this sweet and engaging story. Sometimes you just need a book to escape into…

QOTD: Have you read any on my list? Which one sounds like one you might read?

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
