Mon. | Dec 17 – #AMonthofFaves Winter ❄️ Reading Our 3️⃣ fave reads from last Winter ❄️ and 7️⃣ books on this year’s winter reading list. ❄️

Winter 2018 Faves :

The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin | Lie To Me by J. T. Ellison | The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova

Last winter we read some great books! Each one of these was unique with compelling stories. I always talk about the cover of The Immortalists but it was an excellent read about four siblings who are told by a fortune teller the day they’re supposed to die.

I’d read anything J. T. Ellison writes so I had been looking forward to Lie to Me which is a stand alone “domestic suspense” which had me guessing until the end.

I picked up The Shadow Land at the library since I had loved the author’s Dracula tale in The Historian and how she weaves past and present so well. She didn’t disappoint with this dark tale of past and present Bulgaria.

January 2019 TBR : The 71/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Tuturon | Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff (netgalley)| The Suspect Fiona Barton (netgalley)

I’m excited for January! I’ve heard great things about Evelyn Hardcastle and it’s my first POPSUGAR challenge read. “Takes Place In A Single Day“. (It’s also the one chosen for the Goodreads monthly group read.).

Pam Jenoff is the first author that really made me fall in love with historical fiction so I’m thrilled The Lost Girls of Paris releases February 5, 2019.

I read author Fiona Barton’s debut novel The Widow and remember it being dark and twisted. Her third book The Suspect releases January 10, 2019.

February 2019 TBR : To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han | The Secret of Clouds by Alyson Richman (netgalley)

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is the February Goodreads 2019 Popsugar group read. It’s the “book with love in the title” and it’s been on my TBR forever.

Isn’t the cover of The Secret of Clouds gorgeous? This contemporary read is out February 26, 2019 and early reviews say it’s beautiful and emotional story of a mother’s love.

March 2019 TBR : Where’d You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple | The Last Year of the War by Susan Meissner

Where’d You Go Bernadette? is also a POPSUGAR challenge book “book with a question in the title” and the March group read. It’s been out since 2012 and I’ve *still* not read it!

The Last Year of The War is out March 19, 2019 and author Susan Meissner is a local Southern California favorite! In this historical fiction, she’s writing about World War II, two teenage girls and internment camps in Texas in 1943.

For the month of December, I’m joining hosts  Girlxoxo, Traveling with T andEstella’s Revenge for their annual #AMonthofFaves blog event – a fun way to recap the year that was.
