Welcome Back, Readers!

As Summer 2021 kicks off, I wanted to check in with you on your reading goals.  How are you doing?  Do you keep track on Goodreads or a spreadsheet or somewhere else?

Today I’m featuring 10 Books On My TBR. These are books I’m excited about and I’ll bet they are all at least 4 stars.  That’s my prediction, anyway!  Click on the book title to order/preorder from Bookshop.org

Romantic Comedy

If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy – preorder now, out 8/3/21, from the author of the popular “Dumpling” comes a new Cinderella retelling – this looks so cute!

So We Meet Again by Suzanne Park – preorder now, out 8/3/21, Suzanne is a local author I’ve had the pleasure of meeting – she’s lovely and down to earth.  I loved her last book, Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous and I’ve heard good things about her latest.

Historical Fiction

Sunflower Sisters by Martha Hall Kelley, available now, this one is a little intimidating at 528 pages, however, it’s the third in a series so it’s a must-read!

Historical Romance

The Missing Sister by Lucinda Riley, available now – I was devastated to learn that Lucinda recently passed away.  This book is the final book in a truly epic series.  I know it will be a bittersweet read as many stories and loose ends will be revealed.

The Songbook of Benny Lament by Amy Harmon, available now – I’ve recently discovered this author and only briefly looked at the synopsis.  I think going in blind is the best way to read a book – no preconceived notions or prejudices!

Thrillers

The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave, available now, I don’t know much about this one, but Laura is a favorite, Los Angeles-based author.

False Witness by Karin Slaughter, preorder now, out 7/20/21 – I’m sure this one will give me nightmares but Karin is an auto-buy author too.

Everything We Didn’t Say by Nicole Baart, preorder now, out 11/2/21 – I’ve loved Nicole’s previous books and this one is being called a “race-to-the-finish family drama!

Family Life

We Are the Brennans by Tracey Lange, preorder now, out 8/3/21 – I have a particular fondness for family stories and bonus points if it’s an Irish Catholic family!

Other People’s Things by Kerry Anne King, preorder now, out 9/21/21 – Kerry Anne could publish her shopping list and I’d read it.  I’ve had this one for a couple of months and I don’t want to start it because then it will be over and I’ll have to wait for her next one!

Are you planning to read any of these 2021 releases?
