My Thoughts:

“Coffee is on, bagels are artfully arranged on the platter, cream cheese is chilled, and nerves are shot,” I said to the blissfully quiet space.”

Do you like food in your romance novels?! (Okay that sounds weird!) In the third book of the Hope Lake series, there is a lot of yummy food, a sexy male lead and a great ending! I really loved Parker and Nick, the main couple. We got to meet them in Book Two, but Nick left things hanging and Parker wasn’t sure what happened.

Parker is a FoodNetwork type star who sold her famous bakery and has lost her baking mojo! Hope Lake is a small town and the community becomes very invested in seeing her succeed. I loved the mouthwatering descriptions of Parker’s baked goods and the “Golden Girls” who welcome Parker to town and encourage her to stay in Hope Lake.

I would recommend this title to readers who like authentic characters, a small town vibe and themes of self discovery and second chances. This book can definitely be read as a stand-alone!

Publisher Description:

From the USA TODAY bestselling author of the “heartwarming and refreshingly sweet” (Lauren Layne, New York Times bestselling author) On the Corner of Love and Hate comes a story about a baker who takes her chances on a new town…and an old love.

After selling her famous bakery back in New York, Parker Adams visits Hope Lake, Pennsylvania, to figure out her next steps. And soon she’s wondering why she ever loved city life in the first place. Between the Golden Girls—the senior women who hold court—and Nick Arthur, her equally infuriating and charming former flame, Parker finds a community eager to help her get her mojo back.

But even though Hope Lake gives her the fresh start she’s been looking for, Parker discovers that it’s not so easy to start over again with Nick. Their chemistry is undeniable, but since Nick is a freshly taken man, Parker is determined to keep things platonic. With a recipe for disaster looming, Parker must cook up a new scheme, figuring out how to keep everything she’s come to love before she loses it all.

Perfect for fans of Amy E. Reichert and Jenny Colgan, The Ingredients of You and Me is a scrumptious romantic comedy that lets you have your cake and eat it too.

  1. I actually DO like food in books in general, which is weird because I’m pretty terrible cook! I’m not Worst Cooks in America level, but Gordon Ramsey might stroke out watching me. Ha! I have this trilogy on my summer reading list, though, I feel like I’m going to want to read one after another. Thank you for being on this tour! Sara @ TLC Book Tours
