I’m back with Girlxoxo and Traveling with T for the annual #AMonthofFaves blog event – a fun way to recap the year that was. Get all the details here!
This will be my second year participating! (Click here to see last year’s posts!)
Join in anytime for some or all of the topics. There will also be a link-up on the host blogs so that we can all stop by each other’s posts to leave comments, high fives, good vibes, and well wishes.
WED. | Dec 11 – #AMonthofFaves On the Screen or in Your Ear – What did you watch this year that you absolutely loved and did you see any movies inspired by books you’ve read – what did you think. Or, what are some of your favorite podcasts, audiobooks or songs/albums that you listened to and have on repeat? (What was I listening to and watching last year?)
Watching:
TV watching has sure changed since I was growing up. No longer do we all sit around after dinner watching “must-see” TV. Everyone pretty much watches their own thing. I miss the forced togetherness! With all the streaming services available, we decided to finally “cut the cord” and we canceled our cable. We now have Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu and of course Disney+
As far as new shows? I think I’m watching the same series I was last year!
The Curse of Oak Island – the History channel, Bosch – Amazon Prime, The Mandalorian – Disney+
I didn’t go to the movies hardly at all this year. Just not enough time? Or nothing good enough?
The Kid Who Would Be King, Avengers: Endgame, John Wick: Chapter 3, Always Be My Maybe Ali Wong (Netflix original), Men in Black: International, Spiderman Far From Home
Here are the movies I still want to watch!
The Secret Life of Pets 2, Toy Story 4, Last Christmas, Frozen II, Jumanji: The Next Level, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Little Women
Listening:
I listened to (and loved) my first podcast! The Bright Sessions is a science fiction podcast that follows a group of therapy patients. But these are not your typical patients – each has a unique supernatural ability. The show documents their struggles and discoveries as well as the motivations of their mysterious therapist, Dr. Bright. http://www.thebrightsessions.com/
My music style hasn’t changed much, and sadly I don’t even know who the “new” bands are. Like who or what is BTS?! Some of my most-played bands/musicians from 2019 included: 5 Seconds of Summer, Avicii, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, Ellie Goulding, The Fray, Imagine Dragons, Lifehouse, Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda, Muse, Panic at the Disco, Thirty Seconds to Mars.
What was your favorite movie/show/podcast/band/song of 2019?

“Like who or what is BTS?!” made me laugh. Hahaha! They are a Korean Pop (K-Pop) band, and I only know this because my 18yo daughter is into them. Heh.
That podcast sounds super interesting…I might have to look into that!

There really weren’t many movies I wanted to watch in the theater this year. I think the only one I saw was Downton Abby! Of course, I’ll go see LW on the big screen! Two of my fav podcasts are MMD What Should I Read Next and From the Front Porch with Annie and Chris.

I never go to the movies anymore either! Just not that appealing. Getting into podcasts is so much fun though! That’s made my housecleaning, cooking, all general chores I used to avoid doing so much easier!

I’ve never listened to a podcast but I probably should one of these days because EVERYONE is talking about them!
