MON. | Dec. 2 – #AMonthofFaves 10 Popular Books Worth the Hype (and/or Not Worth the Hype)
Looking back at the books I read this year, I tried to pick the books that I rated 4 or 5 stars and that I remember seeing lots of hype surrounding their release. I added the Goodreads stats too just to gauge their popularity as far as ratings and reviews. I did the same thing on Instagram (where possible) looking at how many times the book title was used as a hashtag. The results were very interesting! (Read my 2018 post on the same topic.)

Oh yes there was A LOT of hype around these titles, especially The Kiss Quotient and Red, White and Royal Blue 🙂 I only read the second one and I ended up loving it, I’m glad you liked the first, too, I’ll have to give it a try 😀

Thanks Marie! Do you mean the second one after the Kiss Quotient? I wasn’t sure about that one… Is it called The Bride Test?

Ok, I LOVE the stats you posted!!!!! ❤ I kept hearing about The Kiss Quotient and think one day I will pick it up- but I'm super, super, super picky about my romances. I'd rather read a murder/mystery/suspense book most days!

Thanks T! I never know how to judge if a book is hyped. It was super steamy but it also had a sweet side to it.

What a great idea to use Instagram hashtag mentions! I read My Lovely Wife, which I thought was pretty good … and Eleanor is Completely fine – which I looooved!

Hmmm. What didn’t you like about Educated? I haven’t read it…yet and not sure if I will.

Maid, I agree, was hugely disappointing. I stayed away from City of Girls, thinking it would probably be overhyped, too.
