Are You Ready for Sweater Weather?
I am so ready. But I live in California, and temps have been in the 80s! Come on Mother Nature…
Today’s post is a fun book tag that was started by JennieLy. Make sure to link back to her if you participate.
Hot Chocolate: What is your comfort book?
Re-reading any of the books from my childhood is always comforting. At the top of the list would be A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Other favorite “comfort” books would be the Harry Potter series, Calvin & Hobbes comics, L.M. Montgomery books (Anne and Emily), C.S. Lewis (Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe series) and Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet.
Pumpkin Carving: What is your favorite creative outlet?
Working on my bujo (bullet journal). I need all the pens, washi tape, and stickers! I also love making graphics and working on my blog… It’s not work if you love what you do, right?!
Falling Leaves: Changes that appear bad but you secretly love?
- I complain, but I love it when stores decorate for holidays waaaay early.
- When Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING shows up in stores!
- I know it’s really the holidays when the Hallmark channel announces their programming lineup.
Pumpkin Spiced Latte: Something you love that others tend to judge?
The Twilight series, Fifty Shades of Grey, Hunger Games, and the Divergent series. Don’t @ me!
Bonfire Night: What makes you explode with joy?
- Talking about books with avid readers – other people who understand ARCs, unreliable narrators and TBRs.
- Meeting authors I have long admired and/or finding out a favorite author has a new book out.
- Receiving book mail! Winning book giveaways!
Fright Night: Favorite scary film or book?
I’m a scaredy-cat. I wrote a post last year for Blogoween. You can read all about my favorite “scary” movies here…
Halloween Candy: Favorite thing to eat?
Candy corn. But in small amounts. Candy apples. But cut into pieces. Does anyone remember Abba Zaba? For some reason I only remember these at Halloween.
Scarves: Your must-have accessory?
A knit beanie, scarf, and fun socks.
Fire: A book or film that burns your soul?
The Bronze Horseman trilogy. I must mention this series by Paulina Simmons at least once a month.
Toffee Apples: A book or film that seems one thing but really has a different inside?
Most recently, I read Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered and it turned out to be a funny, snarky memoir. I don’t listen to the podcast, so I actually thought it would be funny how-to tips. I didn’t expect such honesty and frankness from Georgia and Karen about the mistakes they’ve made and what they’ve learned.
