What’s Up Bookworms?!
How was your week?
We had some slightly cooler days last week thank goodness. My birthday was Tuesday and I did an Instagram giveaway which was super fun. I asked friends to tell me their favorite birthday memories and really enjoyed everyone’s answers. One person got a new car, others remembered dress up or theme parties or a Barbie car. One of my favorites was someone’s grandma brought spaghetti and meatballs to their class – plus cake!
Next week I’ll be mailing about 25 winners one of their two book choices, so they’ll be surprised when they open their package!
On Friday, I joined a fun cover reveal for a new book that comes out in April. Kristy Woodson Harvey’s latest title is Feels Like Falling.
“In her warmest, wittiest, and wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.”
In other news, I read two super cute books last week. Oddly, both had main characters that were heartthrob movie stars!
Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey was a birthday gift and it was a sweet and light-hearted romance. It had tons of lines and characters from all my favorite 90s romcoms. Even some D&D references I just had to share with the hubby.
The Speed of Falling Objects by Nancy Richardson Fisher was an excellent YA book that will definitely make my Best of 2019 lists. I was rooting for the brave and colorful characters and aching for Dani who just wanted to spend time with her dad – who was an egotistical ass****. The Amazon rainforest setting was its own living character – absolutely breathtaking yet brutal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My current read is: Everything You Are by Kerry Anne King which has the most gorgeous cover. It’s another really beautiful story with a complex drama that has me completely enthralled.
Next week I am SUPER excited to be attending a book signing with David Yoon discussing his new book Frankly in Love. Even better, it looks like several women from our reader group “SoCal Booksta” will also be there and I can’t wait to meet them in person.
Also next week, look for my review of the new book by Northern California author, Rebecca Rosenberg: The Secret Life of Mrs. London.
Lastly, here are a few links I found interesting this past week.

Happy Belated Birthday! 🥳
I’m pretty sure I already have Waiting for Tom Hanks on my wishlist, but add in the D & D references and it’s leaping up the queue.
Have a great reading week
