What’s Up Bookworms?!
It’s the first Sunday of NFL Football games and here in Orange County it’s been a HOT 🔥 week with temps in the high 90s. I’m looking forward to cooler temps for sure! It’s not really fall until the 23rd so we have a little time to enjoy the sunshine before I go on strike. 😉
This past week, I posted here on the blog every day!
This space has been neglected over the summer and I’ve been spending too much time on Instagram and it shows in my daily views. Lately I’ve been inspired by reading other bloggers posts and it’s reminded me why I love this community and why I started this page in the first place!
Last week I may have gone a little crazy on Netgalley. I got approved for SIX NEW TITLES! Here are the ones I was approved for:
Are you familiar with the Booksparks Fall Reading Challenge? I’m reading along and there are quite a few available to request on Netgalley.
The biggest news was that one of my posts on Instagram (this one) was “liked” by Kobe Bryant! I know it was an assistant doing the actual clicking but I don’t care. My kids were so impressed with me!
Another highlight was winning a cool giveaway from Scribner! And they’re sending a tote too, which I may be more excited about than the books…. Not really, but I am obsessed with collecting bookish totes!
This weekend after a quick trip to LAX, I decided to take a little detour to Manhattan Beach on the way home. Have you checked out Pages, a gorgeous indie bookstore on The Strand just a few blocks from the ocean? It’s a bright and busy bookstore and they had a great layout with knowledgeable booksellers. The whole street has lots of cute shops and tons of bars and restaurants, I’ll definitely be back when I have more time.
Tonight I’ll be joining a Buddy Read discussion for Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky. I’m not sure I’ll keep reading. It’s creepy and dark but it’s a LONG one and way outside my normal genre.
Lastly, here are a few links I found helpful or interesting or just plain funny!
