#AMonthofFaves : A Day in the Life

Today’s prompt asked about what our day or weekend looked like so we can share our traditions and routines as we get closer to the holidays. Well let me tell you…

On Saturday several Orange County Little Free Library stewards (myself included) welcomed authors Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke, Michelle Gable and Kaira Rouda to our little libraries for a meet and greet and book signing!

They were set to arrive at 11:30 so my morning consisted of cleaning my house and getting ready.

I made cinnamon rolls and bacon for the family and was able to relax with my coffee for a bit before I was back to getting ready for our visitors.

I love baking desserts and the holidays are the perfect time to make homemade treats for friends and family. Here are links to some of the things I made:

Fantasy Fudge | Salted Caramel Mini Cheesecake Bites | White Chocolate Cookie Bars | Pretzel Snap Turtles

By 11am l was ready! The table outside had a beautiful tablecloth, the coffeemaker was set up, napkins and holiday cups laid out and Christmas music playing. We had tote bags and boxes of books to share too. Thankfully the torrential rains had cleared to bright beautiful blue skies and it was cool enough to wear my Santa hat!

Friends and neighbors and other LFL stewards stopped by and before long…..the VIP Guests arrived!

These ladies were funny and welcoming and so generous with their time and the BOOOOOOKS! They had signed books and even hard to get ARCs of 2019 titles.

Did I mention they were dressed like elves and had brought their little dogs?! We took lots of silly and fun pictures for social media. They even had a thoughtful hostess present for me!

It was a whirlwind visit and the elves dashed off to storm the local Barnes & Noble (can you imagine the looks?!) and visit the next little library.

After they left I had lunch with a book blogger friend who came down from LA. I took her to Old Towne Orange and we walked around, had lunch at Pandor and stopped by 1888 Center. Such fun, thanks Dani!

After that, back home to take my son to his basketball tournament. They lost but he’s on a very junior team. We ended a fantastic day with pizza and a little NBA and a movie.

That was my day! Definitely more exciting and eventful than our norm.

What did YOU do this weekend?

  2. What a fun, bookish weekend!! Love seeing the pics!

I had a boring, do-nothing weekend and it was kind of perfect. Exactly what I needed, since the next couple of weeks will be hectic.
