⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was SO good! Fast paced and unique storyline. Lots of tension and dramatic twists and turns.

The main character Kellan Adams is simply put, a bad-ass. She’s ex-military with a highly analytical mind and ice in her veins.

She’s both tough and vulnerable – her past involves a terrible monster of a husband who was abusing her. She finally escapes, at a huge cost, but ends up on the street. She gets shot in the head trying to save a little girl from her abusive father and can’t remember an entire year of her life.

Now it’s present day (maybe 7-9 years later?) and she’s managing a big resort on the windy and wet Oregon coast after the previous assistant manager disappeared mysteriously.

From this point forward, I was flipping pages and holding my breath as Kellan discovers a skeleton on the property. One of the guests is allegedly investigating a smuggling ring. The owners of the resort have left Kellan in charge. The ensuing investigation made my head spin trying to figure out who was behind the murder and why. All the guests and staff are under suspicion. I was kept guessing the whole time but never in a million years predicted the cliffhanger ending!

This is a new to me author and I am very impressed by her talent for suspenseful writing!

Can’t wait for Book 2: WHAT DOESN’T KILL HER – January 2019!
