Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read

CJ Box: This Wyoming native has written 19 books featuring Joe Pickett, game warden and I’ve read quite a few of the series, but over time I’ve missed a few and the story line, specifically with regard to Joe’s adopted daughter April was a little sketchy!

JT Ellison: I started reading the Dr. Samantha Owens series and loved them. Now I’m working my way through the Lt. Taylor Jackson series. Her recent stand alone titles, Lie to Me and Tear Me Apart were excellent reads too. Find her on Instagram at @thrillerchick

Catherine Ryan Hyde: wonderful characters, family values and emotional moments are trademark CRH reads. I’m working my way through her backlist but I still have more to go.

Taylor Jenkins Reid: Confession time, I still haven’t read Evelyn Hugo 😮! The book I did read of hers was Maybe In Another Life and I met her at a book event in 2017 and was utterly charmed by her attitude and her brand of humor. I need to catch up before her latest Daisy Jones and the Six comes out next year!

Colleen Hoover: November 9th is my favorite CoHo book. She is an amazing person and her life is truly a rags to riches story. She is beyond funny and loyal and adores her family. She always writes the most interesting and flawed characters. I met her this past year, totally worth waiting in line for five hours! Love her. I still haven’t read IEWU, I know it’s going to wreck me. 😢

Chris Bohjalian: I was lucky enough to hear Mr. Bohjalian speak and he is intelligent and funny and a great public speaker. He’s another author known for his characters and beautiful prose. Determined to read The Flight Attendant before the end of the year! And then the backlist…gulp he’s written 20 books!

Wally Lamb: I was so incredibly moved by his book I Know This Much Is True, a story that was majestic and heartbreaking and powerful. I own several of his other books and need to work them into the rotation!

Paulina Simmons: My favorite trilogy includes The Bronze Horseman, Tatiana & Alexander and The Summer Garden. She has many more I’m interested in. Have you read Tully? It was her debut novel and her fans rave about it.

Katherine Center: I discovered this amazing uplifting author through her fantastic book How To Walk Away and can’t believe she’s never been on my radar! She’s written five other books about love and family. I’ll be on the lookout for her now!

Karin Slaughter: I am in awe of this woman. She is tiny and loves cats and cusses like a sailor and writes the creepiest and most horribly scary books. She’s known for her Will Trent and Grant County series. I read Pretty Girls and was hooked for life. However I need to read her books in very small doses. 😲#slaughtersquad

So tell me, did any of these authors make your list?

Who are the authors you auto-buy?

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

  1. I didn’t know that Pay It Forward was a book! It was such a sweet movie.

I read I Know This Much is True as well. Good book. Haven’t read any of his other books though. Didn’t know he had other books.

My auto-buy authors are Marie Lu and Veronica Roth. Their 2020 books are already on my TBR. I don’t have all of their short stories though. That’s something I’m working on.

Hope you enjoy these reads when you pick them up!
