It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? It’s been a little bit cooler the last week, hovering in the mid-80s. I’m so ready for some rainy ☔️ days.

I finished two very good books last week Dopesick by Beth Macy and The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas   (click links for my full reviews.)

Later this week I’m going to sit and read for six solid hours. Yep, it’s back to school time. (Here’s to all my moms sending their babies off. 🍷 It’s bittersweet and fantastic and terrifying all at once!) I digress…

Here’s what I’m planning on reading this week. I’m seeing a theme here!

Emma In the Night, Wendy Walker (Thank you 😁 to Lit. Wit. Wine. Dine. for the SIGNED copy from your recent giveaway!)

  • One night three years ago, the Tanner sisters disappeared: fifteen-year-old Cass and seventeen-year-old Emma. Three years later, Cass returns, without her sister Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a mysterious island where the two were held. But to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn’t add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family Dr. Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister’s return might just be the beginning of the crime.

You Were Always Mine, Nicole Baart (releases 10/16/18)

  • Jessica Chamberlain, newly separated and living with her two sons in a small Iowa town, can’t believe that a tragedy in another state could have anything to do with her. But when her phone rings one quiet morning, her world is shattered. As she tries to pick up the pieces and make sense of what went wrong, Jess begins to realize that a tragic death is just the beginning. Soon she is caught in a web of lies and half-truths—and she’s horrified to learn that everything leads back to her seven-year-old adopted son, Gabriel.

In Her Bones, Kate Moretti (releases 9/4/18)

  • Fifteen years ago, Lilith Wade was arrested for the brutal murder of six women. After a death row conviction, media frenzy, and the release of an unauthorized biography, her thirty-year-old daughter Edie Beckett is just trying to survive out of the spotlight. She’s a recovering alcoholic with a dead-end city job and an unhealthy codependent relationship with her brother.

What about you?

What are you reading?

Do you have the back-to-school blues?

Tell me what you’re looking forward to this week….book related or not! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. It’s a great way to recap your weekend and plan your reading goals for the week ahead.
