Top Ten Tuesday | Books I Meant to Read In 2018 #toptentuesday #readinggoals

Jan 22, 2019

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the hot books you had to have…and still haven’t read! I’m trying to be better balanced and read more of the books I own. There was a challenge going around where you had to count your unread books… I’m curious how many I have…but like a boyfriend’s exes – best not to think about the actual number! 😆

Here’s ten 🔟 books I really really really wanted to read last year!

1. Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

…the smart, warm, and uplifting story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine.

2. Sadie by Courtney Summers

…a taut, suspenseful book about abuse and power.

3. Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

…a nature-infused romance with a killer twist.

4. The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

…a fiendishly smart cat-and-mouse thriller.

5. After Anna by Lisa Scottoline

…riveting and disquieting, After Anna is a groundbreaking domestic thriller.

6. Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

this is a powerful, gut-wrenching tale that is hard to shake off.

7. The Man She Married by Cathy Lamb

…great mystery mixed with hope.

8. When The Lights Go Out by Mary Kubica

…creepy and oh so clever with a twist I never saw coming.

9. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

…sweet, sexy and unpredictable.

10. Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton

…a sweeping love story and tale of courage that spans generations.

QOTD: Have you read any on my list? Which one should I read next?

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

  1. Eleanor Oliphant and The Kiss Quotient were both so good! I’d recommend starting with one of those two. ❤️

    1. Thanks Sara! I need some lighter books this week…
Funny that both are about eccentric characters!

  2. There are four on your list that will be on mine as well. I had such good intentions. The only one I read was After Anna and really liked it.

    1. There’s just too many great choices! I LOVE Lisa Scottoline – I must get to this one before her next one “Someone Knows” comes out!

      1. Yes, she is another of my go to authors. I am seldom disappointed with any of her books.

  3. I have read book 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10. The only one I had a problem with was The Tattooist one. It just did not ring true to me, although many others loved it. You have some really wonderful books listed, Jaymi.

    1. We seem to like the same books, except you’re a bit more timely 😆. Interesting tidbit about Tattooist. I’ll keep you posted! Happy Reading YaYa 📚

  4. Yes, Sadie does sound like a good read.

This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

    1. Thanks Lydia! I just checked your list and that one about twins – wow, I need to add to my list.

  5. The Tattooist of Auschwitz was on my list this week too!
    My TTT:

  6. To be honest, I’m just impressed you actually own all of the books you meant to read last year haha! Sadie was a great book for sure–so hard to read though.

    1. Haha well I had about 100 to pick from. 😂

  7. Lovely list and awesome pictures! The Kiss Quotient has been on my TBR for a long time, and Sadie is on my TTT this week as well!
Hope you enjoy all of the books you read on 2019 🙂
    My TTT:

    1. Thanks for checking out my list! I see the Lady’s Guide on a lot of lists. Hope you like it if you get to it…

  8. I really wanted to read Sadie too! I’m hoping to use my Audible free trial to read it in the next few months. I’ve also heard good things about The Kiss Quotient 🙂

    1. It’s nice to know I’m not alone Kate! We have to catch up! 😂

  9. I want to read Sadie and the Tattooist of Auschwitz as well. I was debating about the Kiss Quotient because it looked cute, but a friend of mind read it and thought I probably wouldn’t like it.

    1. Hmm interesting 🤔 I hope I like it…. thanks for checking out my post!

      1. You might! I’m very particular about my contemporary romances. I’m not usually a fan of most so my opinion of them isn’t probably the best. 🙂

  10. I loved Eleanor Oliphant, I hope you enjoy it! I really want to read The Kiss Quotient and I hear Tattooist is very good.

  11. So many good reads here! Next Year in Havana sounds good. I’ll have to add it to my TBR pile.

  12. Ahh, I SO wanted to read that Mary Kubica book as well. Here’s to hoping you get to it, and the other titles on your list, and you enjoy them!

  13. I need to read The Wife Between Us–I have it.
